The outreach of CJF Ministries has grown to encompass four main areas:

Radio
CJF Ministries broadcasts its daily program, Messianic Perspectives, on more than 30 radio stations across the U.S. and through our website (Messianic Perspectives Webcast). Each day, tens of thousands of people hear our Bible-based messages that present the Gospel in its original Jewish context.

Missions
CJF Ministries has established missionary outposts in the major Jewish population centers of the world. Field representatives are stationed across the United States—as well as in Israel, England, Argentina, France, South Africa, and the former Soviet Union.

Publications
CJF Ministries publishes and distributes many Bibles, booklets, and Bible study materials to help believers interpret and understand the Bible from its original messianic perspective. We also make Gospel tracts and other materials available free of charge for Jewish people who express an interest. Many of these materials and study aids can be found online at Messianic Specialties. Messianic Perspectives (formerly Message of the Christian Jew) is also the name of our bimonthly periodical, designed to keep our friends and supporters informed about the ongoing work of the ministry. This publication contains insightful articles on such topics as Jewish evangelism, Bible doctrine, current events, and prophecy.

Tours
CJF Ministries has been leading tours to Israel, Jordan, and Egypt since 1991 and has emerged as one of the premier operators in the industry. Gideon Levytam, a native Israeli believer (born in Jerusalem), oversees the tour ministry and personally leads many of the tours. Our “Four Seas” tour features a comprehensive itinerary that includes all four Middle Eastern seas—the Mediterranean Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, and the Red Sea (Most traditional Christian tours omit the Red Sea and the southern part of the country). Special arrangements can be made for pastors and their wives to travel without cost when they bring their groups to Israel. Our main reason for taking tours to Israel is to teach and help Christians experience the fulfillment of God's prophetic Word as it relates to God's promises to the people of Israel. Those on the tours also have the opportunity to meet our workers in Israel and gain firsthand knowledge of what God is doing among our people in the Land. We have the most comprehensive and affordable tour packages to Israel for both adults and students. Check out our latest tour!

HANUKKAH

DEC 22, 2008

Hanukkah is not mentioned in the Tanakh; however, it is alluded to in the apocrypha books of 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees. In the Second Century BCE, Judah Maccabees and his brothers led a revolt against Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who had desecrated the Temple, murdered Jewish citizens, and outlawed the Jewish religion. In 165 BCE, Judah successfully reclaimed the Temple and rededicated it. The 8-day festival of Hanukkah was instituted to celebrate that rededication. The Gospel of John references the festival in Chapter 10, verse 22: “Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.”
