Dr. Gary Hedrick
President, CJF Ministries

A messianic Gentile is a non-Jewish person who has embraced the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by receiving HaAdon Yeshua HaMashiach (the Lord Jesus Christ) as Savior and Messiah (Rom. 4:1-16). You don't have to be Jewish to be messianic!
That's why Gary Hedrick, President of CJF Ministries in San Antonio, Texas, says that he is a messianic Gentile. He is also one of the radio voices heard on the Messianic Perspectives radio network.

It was in 1947 that the Lord called a Jewish teenager to preach His Word to both Jews and Gentiles. He left his family and stepped out in faith to serve the Lord.
From 1947-1951, young Charles conducted many church meetings and city-wide revivals throughout America. He became known as "the Christian Jew." Then, in 1951, the Lord called him to establish the worldwide ministry of The Christian Jew Hour, which now includes broadcasts to Israel, the Middle East, and Europe.

Hanukkah is not mentioned in the Tanakh; however, it is alluded to in the apocrypha books of 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees. In the Second Century BCE, Judah Maccabees and his brothers led a revolt against Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who had desecrated the Temple, murdered Jewish citizens, and outlawed the Jewish religion. In 165 BCE, Judah successfully reclaimed the Temple and rededicated it. The 8-day festival of Hanukkah was instituted to celebrate that rededication. The Gospel of John references the festival in Chapter 10, verse 22: “Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.”
